Who Should I Sell To?

To get started building your customer list you will need one basic web page. To get ideas on how to get started with this page see our article on “How To Start Your Home Based Business: Phase Two.”

As you create the web page described in that article you will begin to see how simply you can build a list for almost any niche you choose. This is your lead generation page. As you create the page you will write content that encourages people to opt-in for your free gift that offers valuable information relative to your niche.

Examples of free information you might share with those who choose to opt-in to your customer list include:

FREE Report – this report will provide useful information on one specific topic within your key niche. For example, if you are selling digital cameras, you might give away a report that assists people in choose the best digital camera for their needs.

FREE Mini-Course – a free mini course is similar to a FREE Report in that it dissects the report and shares a key point one email at a time. You might provide a three day mini course or a ten day one. Maybe you will offer a free mini course that will provide so much value people will want to continue receiving information from you for a monthly fee.

FREE E-Book – an e-book is simply a digitally available book on the topic of your choice. It is usually 25-30 pages long but can be as long as 350 pages. You may wonder why anyone would give such a long e-book away for free. The reason is that they know the information contained in the e-book will draw the reader into a desire for deeper learning, which they will gain through the purchase of other products and services mentioned in the e-book.

Be creative and give away something you know will benefit your potential clients. You may even create a contest that encourages people to opt-in so they can participate. One powerful give-away idea is to give away something that is usually sold for a high fee, but give it away for only $1 or some ridiculously low price so people will jump at the chance to get the valuable information at such a low cost.

As people opt-in to your information they will gradually begin to trust your style and the quality you provide. As this trust occurs, they will be much more likely to purchase products and services from you as a result of the trust you have built in this customer base.

Automating the opt-in process to build your customer list is fairly simple and is a very low cost. The only cost involved is the monthly fee for hosting your website. This fee can be as low as $19.95 per month and sometimes less. Some popular hosting companies are:

You will also need an auto-responder service. This service is a must when building a list of customers. It allows you to stay in touch with people automatically as they opt-in to your list. You can write email messages that go out for as long as you wish, even for a year or more. There are recommended intervals for setting up the messages for the best results. You wouldn’t want to send a message every day. You also wouldn’t want to wait too long between messages or the recipient could forget about opting in to your list and imagine you are spamming them.
An auto-responder service is fairly easy to understand and can be as low cost as $19.95 depending on how large you wish your database to be able to grow to. It’s fine to start out with the lowest level as you can easily upgrade later effortlessly when you are ready.

You will use the auto-responder service to create the opt-in form for your web page. Simply follow the instructions and the HTML code will be provided. Copy the code and paste it into your website and your are ready for business.

When you consider the cost of creating your opt-in page to build your customer list, it is probably one of the most cost effective techniques for building a long term and profitable list there is. As you write your messages in advance be sure to send the recipient to your web pages where you have products for sale. This is the main benefit of having a list of customers who have opted in to hear from you on a regular basis.

Every time you have another product or service to offer, you simply offer it to your list of customers. Since these people have chosen to opt-in to hear from you, there is a good chance they will buy from you as you have built trust by providing quality. By always providing information that is relevant to the niche the customers opted in for, you are saving them a lot of time in searching for these key products on their own.

Now you have built a customer list that trusts you. You have also become profitable through offering products and services that match the value you have already provided. You have done this at a very low cost involving only a hosting company and an auto-responder service. Once you have set in motion automated systems such as the one described in this article, you should enjoy a complete lack of overwhelm!

By the time you enter into phase two of getting started with your home based business, you have defined your niche and you know there is a market for it. Now what?

Before sending traffic to your business you will want to prepare for the traffic so when they arrive, you have what they want and they want to come back for more.

How does one prepare for traffic?

The first website page you really need for your home based business is a lead generation page. The purpose of this page is to introduce yourself and what you offer in such a way that people wish to stay in contact with you. If your home based business is an internet business, this is a simple process.

The way to stay in contact is by inviting people to give you their name and email address to introduce them in exchange for something valuable you can give as a gift. This gift will introduce people to you and your “style.” It will help them choose whether they want more from you in the future, including products you may sell later.

Why is this one page all that is needed to prepare for traffic?

As people share their contact information with you they are giving you permission to email them. You can then send relevant information based on the niche they were seeking when they discovered your website. They are now a prospective customer. As you send this information you can guide people to products of interest that can make a difference for the prospective customer.

How do you keep traffic coming back to your website?

As you create email messages for people who have shared their contact information you will always talk about a topic that leads people back to your website. Your email will include a clickable link so people can go to the web page mentioned to receive more information or to purchase a product you may refer to. In fact, as you create email messages you can create a page on your website to go with each message.

This way you can create one website page at a time. Just think, over time you will have a very content rich website with a constant stream of qualified traffic visiting it regularly through your emails. The sequential email messages are like having an invisible store clerk guiding prospective clients around the store in a powerful, engaging, natural way.

There one truly wonderful thing about having leads generated through your one website page which you constantly promote. As new people connect with you, your email messages are all set to go. You are not having to write email messages again. Each new person begins with the first message in the sequence and gradually receives all the same messages every other person has received.

In addition to the automated sequence created you can also send out a special message occasionally to announce an event or new promotion that is not part of the message sequence. This is known as a broadcast. You have the best of both worlds when you have been given permission to contact prospective customers by email. You have profit potential through automated messages. You also have profit potential through current activities you may promote that are time sensitive.

What if you don’t have time to create pages but want to hurry up and get your business to be profitable?

It’s easy. Just create the one lead generation page. Then, as you create email messages, send people to website pages that promote products owned by other people. Before doing this, make sure you have become an affiliate and only send people through your affiliate link so you get credit for the purchase when one is made. This can give you an income while you are creating your own product which you will also share about through your emails.

You can find downloadable products to share in your email messages by simply going to directories such as:

Simply go to these affiliate directories and search for products that make sense for people in your contact community.

In your email messages you might also provide information about products that are not downloadable immediately but must be shipped. Some examples of directories of products where you can receive commissions when sold are:

Fast Start Summary

In the start up of your new home based business by now you have:

When starting your home based business the first thing to do is keep whatever income source you have until you get your home based business off the ground. If you have a job right now, continue it. If you quit too soon, the stress of needing to hurry up your results can actually distract you from what needs to be done.

You may feel that working is taking up too much of your time and keeping you from what is needed to get your home based business going. Using the internet to start your business helps eliminate the problem of finding time. Online steps can be done at any time day or night so any schedule can work for creating this type of business.

Before You Begin… Your first action may not seem very exciting to you but trust me and do what I tell you. This is no hype. It will benefit you to “slow down to hurry up.” It will save you much time and money to visualize what you want your business to look like.

Write your answers to the following questions:
1. On what main niche do you want to focus?
2. What have you seen, heard, or done that makes you to think you can provide something needed or wanted by people regarding this niche?
3. What other products do you see provided for this niche?
4. Do you see any gaps you might fill in what is now provided?
5. What difference do you want to make that is not now being made?
6. What is unique about what you want to offer in this niche?
7. Do you see people actually spending money on products for this niche?
8. What is your compelling reason for starting your home based business in this particular niche?
9. How much time per day do you wish to devote to your business?
10. Do you want to do business only online or do you want to also have a local brick and mortar location?
11. Do you want to sell your own product or other people’s products?
12. Do you have an idea for a product you want to have manufactured or is it something you can create yourself like an information product or a service?

Who Will Buy?

Once you are clear about the answers to the above questions you will want to research to make certain there are enough people looking for what you wish to offer to give you the income you need or want from your home based business. The internet has made it very easy to research your niche to make sure there are enough people looking for what you offer to make it worth your time to offer it. Another consideration in doing your research is to discover whether people actually spend money on products in your niche even though there may be thousands searching for your niche daily.

Following are some research tips:
1. Brainstorm a list of words potential customers might type into a search engine when they are looking for a solution for a problem you wish to solve for them.
2. Use a free service to discover how many people search for your topic daily. You can do this at the following locations:
a. http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com
b. http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/
c. http://goodkeywords.com/

3. Type in the broad keyword from your list. By doing this you will see all the variations of phrases people type in that include your main keyword.
4. Check your brainstormed list and type in any keywords you wrote that are not shown on the list given under your first broad keyword typed into the keyword research tool.
5. Place a star or check mark beside words on your list that are searched 10,000 times or less. (When first starting your home based business you will want to focus on products that are searched but have not too much competition. Later you will be able to move into the more competitive areas if desired.)
6. What magazines would people in your niche tend to read? You can find all the magazines that are relative to your niche at http://magazine-directory.com/
a. This can give you an idea of what sub-topics people like to read about your niche.
b. It is also a good resource for where to place your ads offline when you are ready to spend money on ads.
7. Determine whether people are spending money in this niche.
a. Are there ads being shown for products in your niche? If so, people are spending money in that area. Business owners do not spend money advertising a product that is not bought.
b. Look for ads in magazines that are relevant to your niche. What products are being sold through those ads? Are the ads repeated for months in a row? Repeated ads shows results must be occurring that make it worth spending on the ads.

Once you determine people are actually spending money on the type of product you wish to provide think about why they are willing to spend money for this. Before you spend time or money attracting potential customers you will want to create a compelling reason for them to buy once they arrive at your store or website.

Is your product something they want or is it something they need? What is it that makes them want it? Or what is it that makes them need it?

Your next step for your home based business is to prepare for traffic. You will not want to invite people to an empty “store.” I’ll tell you how to get results and how to keep people coming back.

Sneak Peek

This is going out to my in-house list tomorrow morning.

You get a 24 hour sneak peek!

==========================================
Subj - URGENT VIDEO (keep it secret please)

Hi,

I have a MAJOR announcement to make, and it's in this
video I just made for you:

BigMoneyFreeTime Click Here.

Please don't share this with anyone.

This video shows you:

1. The evolution of my 3-year "Project Hermit" study.

2. A new money-making tactic called "Google Crush"…(it
does exactly like it sounds, bends Google to your will)

3. Details on the "Small Business Death Sentence"
Project (does it seem harder and harder out there?)

Here's the video:

BigMoneyFreeTime Click Here.

I just made it late last night, please excuse me if I
sound a little drained.

I got to train all weekend with Jason "Mayhem" Miller, one
of the baddest dudes in the UFC. My ears are sore
from the damn grecco-roman headlocks, and my bad
knee is screaming…it was a fantastic training camp!

Anyway - in all seriousness - you NEED TO WATCH THIS:

BigMoneyFreeTime Click Here.

…Especially if you think this whole "small business
entrepreneur-thingy" is on your mind.

BigMoneyFreeTime Click Here.

Talk soon,

David

P.S. - I've probably never told you this, but you're on
a CLOSED LIST.

I haven't added a single new subscriber to my newsletter
since last August.

In fact, it's IMPOSSIBLE to get on this list you're
on right now.

THERE IS A REASON FOR THIS

…And that reason is simple:

SECRECY

I don't want the whole world knowing what I'm
up to.

And I don't give a flying fig about being a "guru" or whatever.

With that said, please keep what you're about to
see a SECRET.

Cool?

BigMoneyFreeTime Click Here.

P.P.S We're now accepting affiliates for our BigMoneyFreeTime
Private Partners program. This isn't open to the public, so
if you'd like to be a launch partner, email my JV manager

Wow, what a crazy week! Yippee!

We have the 25-day promotion sequence for my new online community all planned out. I hit one snag Friday night at 5:45 pm that has cost me 3 days. I'm waiting on an e-m-p-l-o-y-e-e of one of my vendors…she left work 15 minutes early at the end of the week and never fixed a situation she was working on. You and I lose 3 days because of it…oh well, we keep smiling and plow ahead. Can't get mad over things we can't control, right?

The big announcement will happen Tuesday around noon, and then all of my affiliates will start promoting simultaneously. Over the next 3 weeks we'll be giving away:

- a special report and wakeup call for entrepreneurs entitled "Small Business Death Sentence"

- a podcast with Jeryl Massini, the virtual assistant expert who runs the day to day for internet guru Frank Kern's massive online business

- a case study video on developing an internet strategy with a guy who owns one of the largest vacuum dealerships in the country

- a podcast with software development expert and black hat marketer Howie Schwartz discussing internet tactics for small business

- a case study video with the owner of a sports therapy clinic as we develop a residual income stream for her company in under 10 hours

- a podcast and teleseminar answering marketing questions and hot seat critiques for business owners all over the world

- a case study with the owner of the 3rd largest mixed martial arts gym in North America analyzing how he stays the dominant player in his market

- a podcast with a guy who has his own reality TV show that uses the web, network TV, and celebrity to grow his brand and business

…and thats all before the end of the month!

Are you an internet marketer? Do you have a mailing list with entrepreneurs and small business owners that read it? Can you bend the web and dominate conversations? Do you have a blog that talks about marketing? Do you like the idea of giving away tremendous value to your readership? If so, we should talk right away. You and I have the opportunity to work together to help you create a new residual income stream!

I highly suggest getting on my JV Partner Announcement List. I'll have my affiliate manager contact you in the next 48 hours.

The Early Bird Sneak Peak JV Partner List

You know what to do…I'll be in touch!
