Is CNBC Lying To Us?
I was sitting at a poker table at the Green Valley Ranch in Vegas last week when I glanced up at the plasma flat screen on the wall. Good old Larry Kudlow was yammering with a bunch of CNBC "experts" on how easily America avoided the recession and laughing at the chicken littles who were crying that the sky was falling.
Of course, the real experts at the poker table were snickering. One old fart called Kudlow "a lying douchebag". Oil hit $122.50 a barrel that day. We were paying $3.86 a gallon for the cheap stuff at the pump.
What's the economy REALLY like?
Do you want to know what I found out about what's going on in the trenches where the real Americans are?
Let me know your thoughts.
Is there a real recession on? What's the impact on YOUR business?

"If you are selling opportunity, there is no such thing as a recession"… dang Denis, that might be the most profound thing I heard this week.
Every business owner should analyze that statement. Ponder it. Reflect on it. Kick it around over a few beers. I came up with a new concept just from this exercise…thanks for sharing amigo!

Recession?
What recession. I go to restaurants and they're booked. The parking lots at the mall are full. A few months ago I was on a plane to Hawaii, and it was completely booked. (those tickets aren't cheap.)
Yes, gas is up, and people are getting laid off. By the way I live in the greater Detroit area, where the attitude is one of the worst in the country. The Big 3 are laying people off, benefits are being cut, an on and on…
Here's what I say to all that - where have you been for the last 10 years? Didn't you know this is going to happen? It's been happening slowly for a while now.
But here's a more important question, why haven't the people that are moaning and groaning right now done anything to secure themselves and protect their financial house?
In spite of all the doom and gloom, I'm working out of my house, mostly on the internet, making six figures, buying a new house, and I'm not some guru, and have only been doing it for a couple of years. I simply follow what you and a lot of other online/direct marketers have put out there for us to learn.
I want to end with this thought. This may seem cruel and unsensitive to some people, but so be it.
Before getting involved in the internet marketing, I've spent over 10 years selling financial services and also recruiting into that business. I did quiet well, but a lot of the people that I was trying to recruit to financial services, would look at me like I had a third eye or something.
They would say things like - but it's commission, I want a salary - or - you mean no benefits? - or - I would never do that- I would never go into sales - I want a steady secure job….
If you have that kind of an attitude, I don't feel sorry for you if you get laid off. You should have done something about that before getting the pink slip. The writing has been on the wall for a long time now.
And if paying an extra $30 a week in gas is putting a big dent in your budget, and you live in America or Canada, that's a shame. You should have done something about that before.
The economy works in cycles. It's always going to come down after a spike, and will always recover after a correction. Always.
The ones who understand that and understand the free economy, take advantage of the opportunities that are created during those times.
I hope this helps some people out there.
Best,
Vitaly Grinblat
